At the state Capitol on Thursday, there were rallies, demonstrations and growing support for a controversial bill that would restrict the use of deadly force by police.

It’s not the first time that activists have tried to change the rules of engagement for police – last year a similar bill died from lack of support.

But this time, there is escalating anger over legal decisions not to prosecute the two officers involved in the Stephon Clark shooting, and it is fueling a much stronger call to action at the Capitol, where clergy members joined with dozens of demonstrators in support of Stephon Clark’s family – and Assembly Bill 392.
