WPTV/NBC5 – SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. —Thousands of people across the country, including in Vermont and Northern New York, are taking to the streets today in recognition of May Day, also known as International Workers Day.

Traditionally, a day to honor labor movements worldwide, this year’s demonstrations are drawing attention to what organizers say are growing threats to worker protections.
