Sister Jacqueline Verville, a lifelong educator and inspirational leader, will receive one of the most prominent hero awards a local nonprofit annually gives out. Sister Jacqueline, a sister of the Holy Cross for 70 years, will receive the 2019 Sister Dorothy Cormier Micah Memorial Award from the Granite State Organizing Project (GSOP) at a ceremony Saturday.
Prior to her recent retirement due to illness, Sister Jacqueline had been working at the Holy Cross Family Learning Center that she founded in 2010. “Sister Jacqueline truly embodied the motto ‘Liberation through Education’ with passion and life,” said Sarah Jane Knoy, executive director with the GSOP.
