This passage from the Book of Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Torah and the Old Testament, part of the Biblical creed of migrants — tenets that guide how Christians should behave toward immigrants — was one of several spoken Monday during the National Immigrant Protection Prayer Event in Newark, where clergy promised to protect vulnerable immigrants and fight back against any upcoming deportation action.
