“These policies violate every principle of decency, justice and compassion that we hold as Jews,” Rabbi Miriam Terlinchamp of Cincinnati reportedly said in a statement to Newsweek announcing the trek.

The rabbi cited “increased militarization of our borders and zero-tolerance policies” as a motivating factor for the protest. The movement is being called “Let Our Families Go.”
