The Tornillo camp located in the remote region of the West Texas desert witnessed about 200 protesters led by rabbis and a number of other faith leaders . The aim of the protesters was to send a clear signal to the Trump administration that ordinary Americans are not happy with how their government treats migrant children. The protesters, including Muslims, Christians, and Jews, shared reflections and sang songs outside the camp. The United States Government has made the border outpost a veritable tent city. The facilities now house unaccompanied minor children. The protests were organized by Rabbi Josh Whinston, an Ann Arbor, Michigan resident and Reform Jewish leader.
