People gathered at Park Central Square today, hoping to draw attention to several tough issues facing our country.
Faith Voices of Southwest Missouri organized this morning’s demonstration.
They shared stories, sang songs and held signs bearing messages against racism and poverty.
Another issue taking center stage today, immigration.
“People obviously they fear the unknown, when someone comes who looks different from them or speaks differently from them, their instinct is to fear,” Reverand Emily Bowen-Marler said. “And I think we need to change that so that our instinct is to sit down, and to share a meal with people, to get to know one another.”
