Faith in the Valley-Kern along with clergy, and congregation members from all over Kern County will leave for the U.S.-Mexico border Friday, joining other clergy from around the state, rallying together demanding an end to separating immigrant families.
“We want to ask the current administration to as well as Congress to stop the separations of families, stop ripping children apart from their parents,” Alex Gonzalez with Faith in the Valley-Kern said. “We also want families, over 2,000 families, 2,000 kids have already been separated from their parents, to be put back together.”
Wednesday morning, President Trump partially reversed his administration’s zero-tolerance immigration policy by allowing families arriving at the border to stay together, but many say the executive order is not a solution.
