As protests against police brutality continue nationwide, faith leaders and a couple hundred others took part in a coronavirus-conscious demonstration Sunday that ended with a car procession down Glenstone Avenue.
The crowd, who were mostly wearing masks, parked cars decorated with signs reading “Black Lives Matter,” “Racism is a public health crisis” and more in a parking lot at Evangel University for a demonstration with Faith Voices of Southwest Missouri.
The organization aimed to answer a call-to-action from Black faith leaders when they asked: “Where is the church?” in regard to the current events of the world.
