Faith in Action Condemns The Trump Administration’s Targeting of Philanthropic Entities That Fund Civic and Faith-Based Non-Profits 

Washington – Following the Department of Justice’s announcement that they would investigate Open Society Foundation, Bishop Dwayne Royster, executive director of Faith in Action, issued the following statement, condemning the Administration’s targeting of philanthropic entities that fund civic and faith-based non-profits:

“Systematically targeting philanthropic entities, like Open Society Foundation and the Ford Foundation, that fund civic and faith-based non-profit organizations is a direct attack on democracy itself. These are organizations whose work we honor and admire and are integral to the fabric of society. This targeting undermines the First Amendment, our Constitution, and the rule of law. History shows what happens when people in power try to silence their opposition. We cannot and will not let that happen.”
