SPRINGFIELD — Students concerned about police officers stationed at Springfield schools met virtually Thursday night with with Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Superintendent Daniel Warwick.
“We are here to have a conversation about school safety and the impact on students of having police in Springfield schools,” said Jessy Hernandez, a recent graduate of Springfield Central High School. “We have lived the experiences of what it is like to have officers roaming our hallways. We have questions about what evidence there is that officers are making schools safer for students and staff.”
