Hundreds of protesters were gathered in front of Sen. RoyBlunt’s office today in protest of what was the administrations practice of separating children from adults detained crossing the U.S. border illegally.
“I’m totally against children being put internment camps. It’s absolutely ridiculous, it’s un-American, it’s inhumane. We’re all on this planet as equals and we ought to be treated that way,” explains protester Wanda Mclane.
Protesters like Mclane rallied in opposition to the policy as she held signs and chanted that the separation of families at the border is inhumane.
“It’s so traumatizing for both the parent and the child. I don’t know if these people will ever heal, ever heal, and it’s absolutely uncalled for.”
