Faith leaders in Springfield are gathering in support of Haitians who have legally settled in Ohio as the Trump Administration seeks to end their status.

The faith leader gathering will include public prayer, local and national speakers and “a closed-door Faith Leaders’ Summit focused on coordinated advocacy, media engagement, and pastoral support.”

Temporary protected status status is set to end Feb. 3, which could force Haitians to return to their home country or at the very least leave the U.S. But while the Trump administration is seeking to end the protection for Haitians, unrest has continued on the ground in the Caribbean island nation.
