By March of next year, almost 33,000 North Texans and more than 230,000 Texans around the state will be working to count every person living in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the Lone Star State. At least that’s what the U.S. Census Bureau is hoping for.

Before that happens, census officials need to get the word out that they’re hiring and actually fill those jobs. And while they’ve already received more than 100,000 job applications across Texas, they’re just barely around the halfway mark of their goal.
