During a recent prayer vigil outside City Hall on the plight of separated immigrant families, area religious leaders reminded attendees that caring for “the stranger” is an important tenet in the Old and New Testaments and the Quran.
In her prayer at last week’s vigil, the Rev. Gretchen Grimshaw of the Parish of St. Paul on Walnut Street, said, “Let us end the reign of denigration that separates families and destroys lives in the name of our one nation under God, which we hold to be indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
