The night before a planned protest over the Trump administration’s immigration policies that have led to more than 2,300 children being separated from their parents who tried to enter the country illegally, hundreds of people gathered at a South Bay church for a vigil and overnight stay.

The event was put together by the San Diego Organizing Project, which drew together more than two dozen ministers, priests, rabbis and other faith leaders from across the religious spectrum to call for a change in policy and support of immigrants, the impoverished and families.
