Six people, including four clergy members, who were arrested at a sit-in to support “dreamers” Feb. 6  at Congressman Leonard Lance’s Westfield office continue to wait for their day in court. A trial that was expected to take place Tuesday was put off until a future date at the prosecutor’s request.

Rev. Ann Ralosky and Rev. John Rogers of First Congregational Church in Montclair, Rabbi Elliott Tepperman of B’nai Keshet in Montclair, Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz of B’nai Abraham in Livingston, Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Summit member Kristen Peck and Make the Road New Jersey youth leader Nedia Morsy previously pleaded “not guilty” to defiant trespassing on Feb. 20.

After a Westfield Municipal Court appearance Tuesday, they spoke at a press conference with Faith in New Jersey (a network of faith leaders and faith communities working together to advance a social and economic justice agenda) and Make the Road New Jersey (an Elizabeth-based organization that advocates for immigrants).
