The Faith in the Valley leader was addressing the several hundred people who rallied in downtown Stockton on Saturday morning to denounce the immigration policies under the Trump administration.

Faith leaders, politicians, activists, military veterans, students, children and elderly community members of all races gathered at the sun-drenched Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza in downtown Stockton as hundreds of sister rallies were also happening across the nation. The crowd, mostly clad in white, chanted, held signs and sang in unison during the two-hour-long event.

The diversity at the event was in line with the Families Belong Together rally organizers’ call for all people to come together to decry policies they say are inhumane, as well as to galvanize people to vote during the November midterm elections.
