Puerto Ricans who have been living in hotels throughout western Massachusetts have received multiple extensions for temporary housing but are still waiting for a permanent solution.
Many of these families face a current FEMA deadline of June 30th.
According to Pioneer Valley Project Director Tara Parrish, many of the families are unsure where they will sleep after their emergency assistance benefits run out. Many families are asking Senators Warren and Markey to fight for the activation of the Disaster Housing Assistance Program to offer long-term housing assistance to Americans impacted by natural disaster.
