When Mayor Andrew J. Ginther picked the members of a group tasked with evaluating Columbus Division of Police policies a year ago, he said it would be among the most important work done in the city in 2018.

The Columbus Community Safety Advisory Commission — comprising community leaders, academics and public-safety experts — didn’t finish its work last year after being delayed by bidding for a consultant. But Ginther’s administration is preparing to receive the product of that work this spring, potentially setting a course for changes in the division.
