Feed and water yourself. I learned this valuable lesson from my good friend and mentor, Wegs, early on in my career. Meaning, take care of yourself, mentally, physically and spiritually. In our immigrant culture, we often only allow ourselves to work. Work to provide. Work to survive. What I see is a community of people so dedicated and loyal that we sometimes work ourselves to unhealthy measures that no one should have to, just to provide for our families. I had to unlearn many things growing up. I had to understand that prioritizing myself is not something to be ashamed of, or something for which I should feel guilty.
