Rodriguez has lived with his family in Maryland for more than a decade. She entered the country in 2006, and since then he has an exit order.

Her lawyer, Hector Mora, did not respond to the request for comment, but he had already informed The Baltimore Sun that Rodriguez had been waiting for asylum and since 2009 he had worked legally.

However, her family says that his last appointment did not mention the air ticket. 

“She is an honest woman who does not deserve to be treated like that,” Sedillos said. “But we have confidence in God, may God make a miracle”
