Committee activists are calling for the community to embrace a different strategy. Gathering outside of that building a new police academy on the west side, activists say the money would be better spent on a public health approach with the new city office of gun violence prevention. This is a call to action for Chicago to stand up if you say you care about them have a heart the center aims to address fundamental issues dealing with non-violence.
