The 2019 Legislature was a good one for real estate developers. But it was a mixed bag for Nevadans desperately seeking affordable housing.

Many have praised measures to provide low-income residents greater protection against evictions and expanded access to Medicaid funds for mentally ill tenants. Others remain skeptical of new laws that will offer developers more tax credits, and reduced fees, on projects that add to the state’s vanishing supply of rent-restricted housing.
