A coalition of Catholic leaders, including the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, and immigration groups will gather in Newark on Wednesday to call on the Trump administration and Congress to stop detention of children and families.
Organizers said 200 to 250 people will assemble for prayer at 10 a.m. atSt. Mary’s Church Newark Abbey, 520 Martin Luther King Blvd. From there, they will walk downtown to the ICE Office at the Peter Rodino Federal Building on Broad Street.
