On Aug. 13, Close the Camps of NY Club hosted a community awareness and fundraising event at the Great Flats Brewery in Schenectady. The event included social time to discuss the news about child detention camps on the southern border. More than 100 attended. Speakers included Sarah Rogerson, right, from the Albany Law School; the Rev. Kathy Donely from Emmanuel Baptist Albany; and the Rev. Andre Bennett from Essex County Community Organization. Live music was performed by Colleen Kattan.
