“Babies are ripped out of their mothers’ arms, children are being caged and stored in an old Walmart, asylum seekers escaping domestic abuse and gang violence are being rejected, and in our communities, families are being destroyed every day by an application of immigration law, it is morally abhorrent, “the coalition of organizers wrote in a Facebook invitation.

“We do not have to go to the border with Mexico to see these atrocities,” said Eduardo Samaniego, a Mexican undocumented immigrant who works with the Pioneer Valley Workers Center. “Right here in Massachusetts this is happening, where families are being separated, which is why we demand from House Speaker Robert DeLeo that Congress approve immigration protections.”
